This is an hourly position reporting to the Director of the Forensic Psychiatric Evaluation Court Clinics (FPECC) in the Division of Correctional Health Services. The Bronx, Brooklyn/Staten Island, Manhattan, and Queens FPECCs are responsible for conducting fitness to proceed evaluations under NYS Criminal Procedure Law Article 730 and pre-sentencing evaluations under NYS Criminal Procedure Law 390 for adult criminal defendants in the NYC criminal justice system. Per Diem Forensic Examiners conduct CPL 730 examinations of criminal defendants together with staff psychologists and psychiatrists, form independent opinions as to the examinees' fitness to proceed, submit timely written reports to the Court, and provide courtroom testimony as and when required. Currently, per diem examiners are only assigned to remote examinations. Responsibilities
