Apex is actively seeking a licensed and experienced Senior Landscape Architect to join our growing Landscape Architecture studio in our Vancouver, WA office. We're looking for a strong leader with a successful track record managing landscape architecture projects from conceptual design through construction completion.

Senior Landscape Architect

We are seeking a high-performing individual with expertise in managing projects, staff, and multidisciplinary teams, with demonstrated technical proficiency in all aspects of site design and landscape architecture.

The ideal candidate will also bring a strong understanding of business fundamentals including business development, client management, project delivery, financial oversight, and quality control, along with the ability to communicate and implement innovative design solutions.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:



  • Serve in a project management role pursuing and delivering work through high-quality design, project documentation, business development, and/or project management.
  • Provide landscape architecture, planning, and project management services for a
  • range of public and private clients
  • Serve as lead landscape architect, planner, or project manager on projects of various sizes and scopes.
  • Manage project schedule and workflow, and anticipate required staff resources.
  • Research and specify materials and products.
  • Coordinate with other project specific discipline leads across the company on multi-disciplinary project delivery.
  • Be involved in landscape practice areas of ecological focus as it relates to Apex cross discipline interactions between civil, natural resources, and landscape architecture.
  • Familiarity with WSDOT and or ODOT delivery and project specification packages.


Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's in Landscape Architecture or related degree
  • 8+ years of experience of leading complex landscape architecture projects
  • Licensed Landscaped Architect


Desirable Qualifications:



  • Deep understanding of code requirements and the full planning and design process
  • Strong experience collaborating with project delivery teams on scope development, budget and schedule management, and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with additional platforms such as Land F/X, Bentley ProjectWise, MicroStation/ORD, Rhino, ArcGIS, and other spatial analysis or 3D modeling/rendering software
  • Experience in developing and producing technical specifications for a variety of project types.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven experience in strategic business development, including client interviews, relationship building, and driving project sales and revenue growth.
  • Highly organized, with a focus on meeting project schedules, managing multiple priorities, and collaborating effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
