Job Summary

The Loudoun County Department of General Services is currently seeking qualified applicants for a Project Coordinator vacancy in our Facility Maintenance Capital Asset Preservation Program (CAPP) Division. This newly created position will provide project management support for replacing essential building systems such as heating, air conditioning, safety systems, security infrastructure, roofing, and modernizing elevators in County-owned buildings. This position will also evaluate building systems for proper prioritization in the CAPP life cycle replacement five year plans addressing larger-scale maintenance that is not addressed under routine maintenance. This ensures that the replacements of major systems are systematic, funded and properly scheduled to avoid downtime and operational interruptions.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Preparing project scopes and coordinating schedules and assignments for review.
* Developing Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for services or products needed.
* Coordinating site work (Serves as a liaison between contractor, architect and engineers, facility maintenance technicians and facility stakeholders for highly complex construction projects.)
* Researching, analysis, and report preparation for project-related topics.
* Performing construction field management and monitoring contractor project documentation.
* Tracking and documenting project costs and progress and managing associated project procurement processes.
* Coordinating meetings with appropriate project personnel.
* Conducting site inspections and construction oversight for assigned projects.
* Possess a strong understanding of applicable building codes and MEP trades (Mechanical/HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing).

Hiring salary is commensurate with experience






Minimum Qualifications

Associates degree with coursework in areas such as Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering, or a related field; three (3) years of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

The following are PREFERRED qualifications:
* Background and proficiency in Mechanical Systems and/or MEP Trades (Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing)
* Prior experience installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial systems
* Journeyman or Master's License (in Mechanical/HVAC, Electrical, and/or Plumbing disciplines) issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia or a neighboring state
* Related certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Facilities Management Professional (FMP), Certified Facilities Manager (CFM), Certified Pool Operator (CPO), Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Energy Manager (CEM), and/or manufacturer-specific trainings
* Microsoft Office
* Prior experience utilizing Asset Management System(s).


Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

Successful candidate will undergo pre-employment criminal, credit, and DMV record background checks, to include CJIS fingerprinting.

Valid driver's license and good driving record are required (driving records may be reviewed annually for continued qualification).

Must be able to inspect existing facilities and active construction projects; will be exposed to inclement weather while in the field; will be exposed to hazardous conditions associated with construction sites and activities. Must be available for duty beyond the normal workday; must be available 24/7 when required to respond to County emergencies. This position is considered "essential."
