Highway Assistant Engineer CM

Creighton Manning, a GAI Company is seeking a Highway Assistant Engineer to join our team.

About This Position:

Highway Engineers III evaluate, select, and apply standard techniques, procedures and criteria to perform a task or sequence of tasks for conventional types of plans, investigations, or surveys with relatively few complex features under the general guidance of a Project Engineer or Project Manager. Work on small projects or portions of larger projects. Typical projects include highway design, long range transportation planning, traffic impact studies and transit planning.

Essential Job Functions:

• Primary data collector in the field.
• Arrange and oversee data collection.
• Perform specific portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
• Perform standard computations and intermediate engineering analysis.
• Prepare drawings and visual aids.
• Observe construction activities.
• Maintain equipment inventory.
• Perform quantity estimates.
• Attend project meetings with senior staff.
• Responsible for writing report sections.
• Responsible for basic QA/QC tasks; review of own work, as well as reviewing the work of Assistant Engineers and Technicians.
• Provide limited supervision to technicians.
• Coordination with municipalities/agencies regarding background volumes, accident data, signal timings, etc.
• Develop and analyze trip generation and volume.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program or an approved equivalent.
• 2 years of experience in a similar engineering role required.

Pay Range:

Albany, NY: $36.50/hour - $47/hour
