Cass A Yard Hostler

Staffmark Drivers is seeking a reliable and experienced Class A Yard Hostler to join our team in Houston, TX. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity with consistent hours, competitive pay, and the chance to join a well-established company with multiple driver positions.

Position Overview:

• Shift: 2nd shift (Monday-Friday); flexibility for training shift may be required
• Pay: $23.88 per hour + OT after 40 hours
• Freight: No-touch freight | Unhooking and hooking trailers only
• Equipment: Yard mule tractor and 53' dry van trailers
• Route Type: Onsite yard operations with multiple trailer moves

Responsibilities:

• Safely operate yard hostler equipment to move 53' trailers within the yard
• Hook/unhook trailers as needed for staging and shipping
• Maintain a clean and organized yard space
• Communicate with dock personnel and logistics teams to ensure smooth trailer flow
• Adhere to all safety procedures and protocols

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of Class A yard driving or hostler experience
• Valid CDL Class A license with current DOT Medical Card
• FMCSA Clearinghouse registered and Non-Excepted Interstate status
• Clear MVR and ability to pass pre-employment screening(s)
• Ability to wear safety shoes and work in a yard environment
• No lifting required
