Pay:

Visterra offers competitive pay commensurate with experience in a similar position. The range for this position is $150,000 to $170,000 annually, but actual compensation will vary depending upon new hire experience and qualifications as well as internal equity.

Role Overview:

The Director of Procurement is responsible for establishing and leading the procurement function for Visterra Landscape Group. This position will develop and implement standardized purchasing processes and sourcing strategies across all divisions, including maintenance, enhancements, construction, fleet, and equipment. The role will oversee cost management, vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and long-term procurement planning to support the company's multi-branch operations and growth objectives. Initially, the role will operate as an individual contributor working with Platform operational leaders and support personnel. The position will likely expand into a departmental leadership role over time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a company-wide procurement strategy that aligns with operational and financial goals.
  • Standardize purchasing processes, documentation, and compliance protocols across all branch locations.
  • Lead sourcing and procurement of materials, plants, tools, irrigation components, and fleet assets.
  • Establish and manage preferred vendor programs, pricing agreements, and contract terms.
  • Collaborate with branch and operational leadership to align material procurement with production schedules and project requirements.
  • Monitor and analyze company-wide spend data to identify cost savings and supply chain efficiencies.
  • Ensure consistent inventory control practices, material availability, and delivery timing.
  • Define future-state procurement team structure, roles, and system requirements as growth necessitates expansion.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of procurement or supply chain experience, with at least 5 years in landscaping, construction, or similar field-based industry required.
  • Strong working knowledge of landscape materials, plant procurement, hardscape and irrigation supplies, and subcontractor relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead procurement process development in a multi-branch or decentralized environment.
  • Experience negotiating vendor contracts, establishing pricing programs, and managing supplier performance.
  • Proficiency with procurement systems or ERP platforms (e.g., Aspire, LMN, NetSuite, SAP, etc.)
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills; ability to manage spend data and supplier KPIs.
  • Ability to travel as required to support branch operations, vendor relations, or integration activities.
