Inova IT Solutions Design Group is looking for a dedicated Integrated Solutions Specialist to join the Team. This role will be full-time working Monday - Friday supporting Inova's Eastern Region (Alexandria, Mount Vernon, and Franconia-Springfield).

The Integrated Solutions Specialist provides design and implementation support for Inova renovation and new construction projects from early design through activation for technology systems including structured cabling, nurse call, security, AV, and connected medical equipment such as physiological monitoring and OR integration. The IT Solutions Design Specialist is involved in projects that involve architects and low voltage engineers, contractors, and Inova vendors to provide guidance, direction and review of design and contract documents, schedule, and on-site construction conditions (pathways, cabling, coordination).

Integrated Solutions Specialist Job Responsibilities:



  • Full-time, on-site support of a current large hospital campus construction project.
  • Maintains familiarization of the design and construction process including expected levels of detail at each phase; the infrastructure, interface and connectivity requirements for IT systems including structured cabling, nurse call, security, AV and connected medical equipment such as physiological monitoring and OR integration; standard Inova vendor solutions and options; Local, State and National Codes relating to Hospital IT systems (such as NFPA, International Building Code, FGI) as well as design best practices and standards (such as UL, BICSI, ANSI, TIA)
  • Understand construction schedules to identify pertinent IT milestones. Understand IT construction standards development and ensuring the awareness and use of standards within the Inova Design/Construction, Real Estate, and contracted architecture and engineering teams.
  • Participate in design meetings to understand user needs and ensure the correct translation of functional and technical needs into design documents.
  • Review design documents for adherence to Inova standards, codes, and design best practices.
  • Review design documents to ensure coordination between architectural elevations and various design disciplines including architecture, technology, medical equipment and electrical.
  • Work with industry leading vendors to ensure Inova is aware of new technology and design practices.
  • Ensure the participation and coordination of Inova vendors in the design and construction process.
  • Generate and manage budgets for IT systems including IT equipment, structured cabling, security, nurse call and AV.
  • Obtain proposals and SOW documents from IT systems that are procured directly by Inova.
  • Provide on-site construction support including validation of IT pathways and spaces.
  • Coordinate the scheduling of Inova vendor construction activities with the design team and contractors.
  • Review, respond, and track low voltage submittals and RFIs.


Minimum Qualifications:



  • Education: High School or GED
  • Experience: 5 years of healthcare IT design or healthcare IT project management experience; 5 years working low voltage systems in a construction environment
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively address and resolve questions from construction teams.
  • Fluent in healthcare construction milestones and integration of low voltage activities into a construction environment.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience working in the low voltage contracting industry preferred.
  • Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
