The Category Manager - Commodities at Crescent Electric Supply Co. will own the assortment strategy and supplier relationships for the Commodities portfolio and will also have direct leadership responsibility for the team of Commodities Quotation Specialists in the organization. This individual will be working closely and strategically with both supplier partners and internal business functions. The role's focus will be to ensure the team increases performance (revenue, margin, active customers, quotation win rates) through supplier and category strategic plans, supplier program development and negotiation, issue resolution, execution measurement, and governance. The Category Manager - Commodities will partner with Purchasing and Operations to ensure the assortment for their category is procured at the most advantaged total cost for the business from quality sources. Primary Duties:
- Oversee the Company's overall Commodities Supplier Partner strategy, including relationships for the category's key suppliers.
- Manage and negotiate all Supplier Partner programs (blanket orders, confidential agreements, rebates, co-op/marketing development programs, terms and conditions, growth incentive programs, supplier published programs, etc.) for their assortment.
- Provide leadership and support to the Commodities Quotation Specialist Team on the development, implementation, and execution of their supplier partner programs, Field engagement and project bids.
- Report to leadership ongoing Commodities supplier partner performance (revenue, margin, rebates, etc.).
- Assist in the development of a formal Commodities category and supplier partner review process.
- Establish, implement, and own the end-to-end commodities product category strategy. This includes developing business plans that support the required physical, logistical, capital expenditure, services, and inventory needs.
- Research market opportunities and size, ascertain alignment with Crescent's strategic plan, and ensure there are commodity category plans to win across the team.
- Develop a market-by-market comprehensive commodities plan and implement that plan across the regions. Provide increased value to the existing organization via improved buying processes, selling strategies, enhanced rebates, and improved inventory performance.
- Develop and guide the team of Commodities Quotation Specialists for growth, performance, and profitability.
Skills:
- Deep, proven knowledge of the Electrical Distribution industry and Commodities marketplace.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required or electrical construction trade experience.
- Proven record of mutually profitable growth for the organization and supplier partners.
- Solid reputation within the Electrical Distribution supplier community, especially commodities.
- Experience in medium or large electrical distribution or manufacturing companies.
- Track record of leading, coaching, and developing high-performing teams.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to travel 10%.
- May be required to work more than 40 hours per week.
