Thermal Targeting Devices (TTD) & Thermal Mobility Devices (TMD) Capability Developer - Firepower

Job Overview:

The TTD/TMD Capability Developer supports Army Futures Command (AFC) modernization by providing technical and operational support in the development, integration, and testing of thermal targeting and mobility systems. This position directly supports the Soldier Requirements Division, Lethality Branch, Firepower objectives through the application of expertise in dismounted targeting systems.

Support Hours: Applicant shall be available during core work hours as established the Government customer.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provide subject matter expertise (SME) on current and developmental thermal targeting and mobility devices for infantry and dismounted forces.
• Conduct technical evaluations, interface with Program Managers, and support Test and Evaluation (T&E) activities related to thermal systems.
• Participate in developmental events, user evaluations, and Soldier touchpoints to collect performance data and Soldier feedback.
• Provide input to capability development documents (CDDs), concepts of operation (CONOPs), and training support packages.
• Monitor system performance, track integration issues, and support resolution with engineering and acquisition personnel.
• Assist in configuration management and life-cycle support planning for fielded and prototype thermal systems.
• Coordinate with other capability developers and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with overall lethality and mobility objectives.
• Maintain inventory and readiness of assigned government equipment, to include reporting any maintenance or calibration needs.
• Support on-site and off-site demonstrations, including travel to test sites and other Army facilities.
• Document findings, draft reports, and provide updates to government stakeholders and program leadership.

Minimum Requirements/Education:

• High School diploma or GED; Associate, Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 2+ years of relevant experience with thermal optics or electro-optical systems in a military or DoD environment.
• Strong understanding of thermal imaging, optics, and mobility enablers in dismounted operations.
• Familiarity with Army Capability Development and the JCIDS process.
• Completion of the Combat Developers Course.
• Experience supporting Army capability development or test/evaluation preferred.

Security Requirement:

• Must possess or be eligible for a Secret clearance.
