About the Opportunity:

Perform core welding work while providing direction and communications to other employees to ensure that the parts flow meets or exceeds the customer requirements.

Location: Newburyport, MA. Onsite.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate all welding equipment and techniques to perform completely and independently specific operations as outlined in the methods and process sheets.
  • Lead, guide and direct department workflow and personnel as needed to meet customer schedule.
  • Set up welding equipment based on job specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and/or drawings to determine the specific welding requirements.
  • Check welds visually and dimensionally with precision measuring instruments for conformance to blueprints and specifications
  • Responsible for the manufacture and maintenance of component parts and fixtures as required
  • Work requires extreme accuracy with very close tolerances and critical dimensions with working knowledge of geometric tolerances.
  • Inspect completed work with a variety of measuring equipment such as height gages, micrometers, verniers, dial indicators and CNC coordinate inspection machine.
  • Lead Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing principles within the designated work cells.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate required.
  • 3-5 years of welding experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Professional welding certification.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time bases without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CAD/CAM experience
  • Trade qualified with recognized apprenticeship
  • Experience leading and/or mentoring others
  • Aerospace manufacturing experience
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Working Conditions:

  • Requires mobility in a manufacturing plant environment while using Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.

Compensation:

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $50,000-$70,000 annually. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, education, and geographic location.
