Description
Work Location Onsite Los Alamos, NM Employment Type Full-Time /Onsite Job Summary / Overview As a Work Control Planner, you will develop, monitor, and validate accuracy, and auditing of performance data, reports, and other statistical information. You will also maintain database and other programs as required for use in the development of performance measurements and other required data administration. Additionally, you will evaluate processes, programs, and procedures for potential improvements and develop and maintain maintenance policies, processes, procedures and provides training in support of the conduct of maintenance program.
- Prepares, reviews, and issues equipment and/or system modification, corrective maintenance, and/or preventative maintenance work packages for activities in unique and/or complex facilities in accordance with applicable procedures and regulations.
- Analyzes time and material requirements for unique and/or complex work activities.
- Prepares detailed specifications for materials and labor estimates for unique and/or complex activities.
- Takes the lead in developing step-by-step instructions for work for unique and/or complex activities.
- Tracks and expedites established priority of work packages.
- Prepares and/or reviews efficient and specific instructions for the isolation, containment or de-energizing various unique and/or complex mechanical, physical, electrical, chemical and/or radiological systems according to established procedures and regulations.
- Oversees various functional and administrative activities in conjunction with the primary work control/work package development including, but not limited to, permit development, testing requirements, documentation generation, records management, database information management, retrieval and review, and/or training.
- Understands and adheres to all Laboratory and industry regulatory guidance and governance specific to work control and planning.
- Ensures all work control results, materials, processes, and final products meet quality specifications and are completed according to established requirements.
Qualifications
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Candidate must be a U.S. citizen.
- Ability to fully understand work hazards, safety practices, operating configuration, and lock-out/tag-out policies and procedures.
- Experience interpreting various mechanical and electrical documents, blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
- Knowledge of legal requirements and environmental impacts affecting work control and planning.
- Knowledge of the Laboratory's work control and facility policies, practices, and procedures.
- Working knowledge of and experience with work control, materials management, and/or mechanical maintenance.
- Experience and demonstrated skill in conducting research, investigating alternative solutions, and recommending solutions on problems affecting work control and planning.
- Ability to fully conceptualize and communicate major elements of work control and planning to both technical and non-technical personnel.
- Ability to utilize and manipulate a computerized work management system in maintaining and tracking work planning activities.
- Skilled in the preparation and presentation of work control reports.
- Ability to obtain and maintain DOE Q clearance.
- Ability to work in a diverse work environment.
- Satisfactory results of a pre-employment screening, which includes a background check and drug screening.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience or 16 years without.
Desired Skills:
- Previous DOE experience.
- Proficient inMaximo asset, x-maximum and Hitachi programs.
- Expertise in building systems, including boilers, HVACs (both JPs), and facility support systems.
- Background in facility maintenance and construction, with hands-on experience in operational upkeep and infrastructure improvements.
- Proven ability in procedure writing and development to support safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.
- Work control experience in managerial and planning roles.
- Proficient in using ticketing systems.
- Certified Facility Manager (CFM), demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of facility operations and leadership.
- PPA-certified Policy and Procedure Writer, skilled in drafting precise documentation that aligns with organizational standards.
- Candidates who have possessed an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) years are preferred.
Work Location: 100% onsite Los Alamos, NM. Local candidates or willing to relocate at the candidate's expense.
