Basic Function
The purpose of the job is to efficiently and effectively perform chemical and physical analysis of samples according to business strategy, set KPIs & needs. #LI-LL2
Responsibilities
- Efficiently & effectively analyze samples related to request/problems/activities originating from Application Development & Technical Service (customer requests/competition analysis), Product Application Development (new product development/raws), Manufacturing/Quality (production issues), QC, QN and SQI according to the priorities set by the Analytical / Laboratory Manager.
- Support Analytical Laboratory equipment operation, including but not limited to assisting selection and installation of new equipment, calibration or verification of the equipment according to the set frequency reporting all anomalies to the Analytical / Laboratory Manager.
- Support organization and follow up of repair and/or preventive maintenance in agreement with the Analytical / Laboratory Manager, assuring all safety standards are met.
- Prepare reports and documentation of analytical analysis under the direction of the Analytical / Laboratory Manager.
- Monitor the stock of consumables and assist the safe storage and handling of laboratory chemicals.
- Follow the implemented OE procedures, quality and safety standards and pro-actively formulate proposals for HSE improvements.
- Actively seek to devise or improve analytical methods or techniques, improving laboratory efficiencies and analytical capabilities through consultation or recommendation to the Analytical / Laboratory Manager.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- Minimum requirement: Associates of Applied Science in Chemistry, Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Chemistry is preferred.
Skills:
- Knowledge of organic chemistry, polymers, additives and their applications
- Knowledge of analytical techniques
- Knowledge of business-specific software (Sopheon, SAP), Microsoft Office email, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SAP and databases.
- Excellent communication - written & verbal, and work planning skills
Languages:
Preferred Qualifications
Work Experience:
- Experience in an analytical or physical laboratory and training or exposure to polymers, compounding and analytical or physical testing of polymers preferred.
