About the Job

55% Data entry and assisting Department of Medicine Accounting Office. Tasks include: assisting with scanning accounting documents into Image now, copying, linking, filing, and communicating with accountants and assisting them with projects.

40% Daily mail delivery, collection and distribution. Sorting and filing of account documents for a large Medicine department.

5% Other special projects or duties as assigned.

Total hours: varied, 10-20 hours/week during school year with more hours available during the summer. Some University training classes will be needed.

The position is within the Accounting Office in the Medicine Administrative Center which supports the Department of Medicine. The Center is dedicated to providing expertise, experience, decision-support and transactional services that support and advance the education, research, patient care and leadership missions of the Department of Medicine and the University of Minnesota Medical School. The Center's business is anticipating and finding best-option solutions. Center leadership and staff are committed to proactive management, fiscal responsibility, best practices, compliance, integrity and continuous improvement in a teamwork environment.

Additional tasks include but not limited to:
1) Preparing ART Nonsponsored Reports for Department of Medicine Finance Accounting team by Dept ID
2) Imagenow/Perceptive Content scanning: scanning of accounting documents into Perceptive Content
4) Nonpurchase Forms for Fairview, UMP and other invoices. Help prepare these Nonpurchase forms for the accountants.
5) Special Projects as needed by Finance Director, Accountants and Research Team.
6) Assist Accountants as needed with new projects.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Registered U of M student
Strong computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel
Familiar with office tasks such as filing, scanning documents, copying
Must be able to communicate effectively
Highly organized and detail oriented

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $15.25 - $20.00 per hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience
