Duties/Responsibilities
The research assistant will assist clinical trial study coordinators with the management of research data. He or she will complete required human subjects research training. The assistant will be responsible for assembling study materials, entry of study data, organization of electronic and paper study documentation, and handling biospecimens (fecal, urine, and blood samples). The assistant will also be responsible for organizing the samples in the freezer on campus, maintaining the specimen collection inventory and coding system.

Program/Unit Description
There are two PIs on this project, which is focused on studying gut microbial physiology.
There are several other personnel at Graduate Student and Post-doctoral level involved with the project who will be contributing to supervision.

Qualifications

Required/Preferred Qualifications

Required: Restricted to rising sophomore, junior, and senior undergraduate students admitted to a degree program at the University of Minnesota. Must have demonstrated outstanding communication and interpersonal skills as well as proven ability to organize work schedule, pay close attention to detail and have a commitment to accuracy and careful documentation in the project.

Preferred: Students planning a career in medicine or a related health care field, comfortable and good in interacting with human research subjects.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $15.25 - $20.00 per hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience
