This position reports to the Director of the School of Nursing and Health Professions. It also involves daily interaction with prospective and current students, high school guidance counselors, university staff, faculty, academic personnel, and administrators. An individual in this role must be self-motivated to display professional communication skills, and function independently with little or no supervision. An ideal candidate will also maximize the use of computer technologies while performing tasks. The individual in this position must be able to provide exceptional customer service, balance multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced, high-traffic environment, and be ready to provide support as needed in any situation. This position functions with a high level of confidentiality.

Hybrid remote work may be available after the successful completion of the initial training period. Please note that the remote work policy is subject to change at the discretion of the department or university.

Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Schedules logistics and secures resources for meetings, conferences, travel, and work unit operations

  • Supports student recruitment efforts by developing and distributing targeted outreach materials and engaging with prospective students at recruitment events such as high school career fairs and university preview days. The role collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate a smooth application, admission, and enrollment process. It also ensures accurate data entry and maintains compliance standards related to program admissions.

  • Sends, receives, copies, and distributes communications to the appropriate entities according to established policies and procedures under general supervision

  • Maintains established methods and organizational systems directed at the maintenance of electronic/physical records related to work operations according to established policies and procedures

  • Collects, analyzes, and prepares various communication materials from established sources utilizing technology mediums

  • Serves as a first point of contact for individuals and groups, provides basic organizational information via phone, in person and through other communication mediums, and routes more complex inquiries to the appropriate entities

Compensation:

Starting at $20/hour and commensurate with experience

Required Qualifications:
  • Professional experience in an administrative/clerical role

  • Professional experience with MS Office Suite

  • Professional experience with marketing design software such as Canva, Hootsuite, or Adobe platforms

  • Professional experience with social media marketing, including advanced functions, and proven history of quickly learning new programs.

  • Proven record of managing multiple tasks and effectively organizing work to meet tight deadlines

  • Proven record of communicating effectively, both in writing and verbally, across various professional settings

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and School of Nursing and Health Professions policies and procedures, including knowledge of pre-requisites, admission process, curricula, and Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)

  • Proficient with the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Student Information System

  • Working knowledge of UW System policies and procedures in relation to purchasing, travel expense reporting, and invoicing

Education:

Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent
