Position Summary: The Mortgage Loans Processor 1 processes mortgage loans intended for sale on the secondary market. This includes all processing steps from origination up until closing on a variety of loan types with a focus on Conventional transactions.

As part of our hybrid work from home opportunity guidelines, associates are expected to work 4 days onsite in Lincoln, NE with the opportunity of 1 day WFH each week.

Essential Functions:



  • Process mortgage loans intended for sale on the secondary market including Conventional, FHA, VA, NIFA and other special programs as needed. This includes all processing steps from origination up until closing.
  • Review file for accuracy, analyze documentation, pre-underwrite loan file and submit to underwriting.
  • Coordinate loan process while working closely with all parties involved in transaction (originator, underwriter, closer, etc).
  • Manage a production pipeline and clearly communicate and accurately update the status of each loan.
  • Review and clear all underwriting conditions prior to closing.
  • Resolve all items identified in pre/post-closing reviews.
  • Anticipate all requirements of the loan cycle from beginning to end.
  • Ensure all transactions meet compliance bank policy, regulatory compliance, investor guidelines and customer service standards.
  • Understand and adhere to all bank policies, laws and regulations applicable to their role. Complete compliance training; follow internal processes and controls as required.
  • Report all compliance issues, violations of law or regulations in accordance with the steps defined in bank policies.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.
  • Performs other job related duties or special projects as assigned.

  • Little to no experience processing (supervisor/manager discretion)
  • Little to no experience secondary market loans (supervisor/manager discretion)
  • Effectively handle 10-25+ files in the pipeline at a time
  • Conventional purchase and refinances
  • Learning Processing Expectations
  • Must be able to VPN
  • Demonstration of good written communication skills, procedure writing upon request will be required.
  • Exceptional level of customer service to borrowers and officers
  • Demonstrated ability to review and apply Agency and Investor guidelines.
  • Gaining knowledge and understanding of TRID, Adverse Action and Reg B



Qualifications:



  • Thorough understanding of investor, agency, and compliance guidelines applicable to secondary market preferred.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and in working with other financial software.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required.

Working Environment:

Indoor work - not exposed to outdoor elements or hazards.
