Job Description

American National is seeking an exceptional Reserving Actuary to join our dynamic and forward-thinking team at American National, where innovation meets collaboration! We are a leading company in the insurance industry, dedicated to shaping the future with our flagship Farm and Ranch product. Our team is passionate about delivering exceptional results and making a real impact. We are seeking a talented and motivated Assistant Actuary II to join our collaborative Reserving team. In this role you will have the opportunity to work on exciting and challenging projects while shaping the future of our team.

Responsibilities
* Perform monthly/quarterly reserve reviews, including analysis of loss development trends and reserve adequacy.
* Collaborate with other functional areas (Claims, Finance, Underwriting, Pricing) to understand trends impacting reserve analyses and provide insights on key loss drivers.
* Assist the Appointed Actuary on the Statement of Actuarial Opinion and other financial reporting requirements.
* Prepare presentations/communications of analyses to various audiences.
* Proactively monitor relevant trends. Track and report on appropriate metrics.
* Persistent pursuit of improvement including streamlining processes, data, exploration of new methods, techniques, and practices.

Qualifications
* A Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related field with a strong mathematical background is required.
* Four to six years of experience.
* 5 or more exams; ACAS designation preferred.
* Prior experience with SQL, Python, or R strongly preferred.

Position is posted between 90k and 137K
