The NIRSA Competitive Club Assistant Men's Soccer Coach is responsible for assisting the NIRSA Competitive Men's Soccer Head Coach in the development and management of all aspects of the men's soccer program. The NIRSA Competitive Club Assistant Men's Soccer Coach will assist the NIRSA Competitive Men's Soccer Head Coach with the day-to-day operation of the NIRSA men's soccer team. This includes, but is not limited to, coaching in practices and games; monitoring personal, academic, and athletic development of student athletes; and developing skill, teamwork, discipline, and confidence, in both practices and games throughout the duration of the season and any post-season competition that the team qualifies for. Responsibilities also typically include team travel supervision which encompasses driving team vans/rental vehicles to and from athletic competitions; assisting in equipment/uniform inventory, issuance and collection, set up/breakdown and storage in designated areas; helping with statistical data collection, record keeping, and reporting as needed. As assigned by the head coach, the assistant coach will aid in the recruitment of qualified student athletes to Thomas College. This includes, but is not limited to, calling, emailing, scouting, organizing mass mailings, and conducting campus visits. It is expected that the assistant coach will work collaboratively with the head coach and the admissions staff to recruit and retain student athletes. The qualified candidate must have knowledge of the game of soccer, knowledge of Thomas College, NCAA, and NAC rules and regulations. Must have the ability to effectively communicate with athletic department staff, student athletes, recruits and media. Ability to drive long distances to athletic contests. Bachelor's degree is preferred. Prior intercollegiate playing and/or coaching experience (preferred). Valid driver's license, successful driver's license background check, and successful completion of van familiarization course required.
