The Opportunity

The Management Division at Babson College is seeking applicants for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor in Organizational Behavior position starting in the 2026-2027 academic year.

About the Management Division

The Management Division is a community of collaborative, supportive colleagues who are actively engaged in their academic disciplines and with the practitioner community, and who are innovative educators. Our division includes eighteen full-time tenure-track faculty members and ten full-time lecturers in two general areas: Organizational Behavior and Strategy. In recent years, faculty members have published in top-tier management journals for academics (e.g.,Academy of Management Review,Strategic Management Journal), practitioners (e.g.,Harvard Business Review,MITSloan Management Review), and educators (e.g.,Academy of Management Learning & Education,Journal of Management Education). In addition, our faculty are actively engaged in their academic communities serving as journal editors (e.g.Academy of Management Learning & Education), editorial review board members (e.g.Strategic Management Journal, Leadership Quarterly, Academy of Management Review), and assuming leadership positions in the Academy (e.g.,AOMCareers division,SMSstrategic human capital division,POSmicro-communities).

As an OB community of scholars, we have a shared interest in the generative potential of work. Individually, we explore this interest in areas including leadership development, relationships at work, coaching, careers, diversity, equity, and inclusion at work, mental health, conflict resolution, and management education.

What Will You Do

  • Teach organizational behavior (and related topics such as leadership, managing talent, or inclusive excellence) to undergraduates,MBAstudents, and Executives.
  • Generate new pedagogy and update curriculum that is generationally and technologically relevant for our students by integrating a future-forward perspective and strategic foresight.
  • Develop a portfolio of scholarly materials to contribute to academic communities and/or the broader practice of management.
  • Work as a team player and be willing to collaborate with faculty across disciplines, both in integrated team teaching and in college service.
  • Commit to working in ways that will support and enhance the College's commitment to teaching in an aligned, engaged, and inclusive manner.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as required.

How and Where You Will Work

  • Ability to teach courses in-person, on-campus. The typical course load for a pre-tenure Assistant Professor position is four courses per year.

What Education and Skills You Will Need:

  • Ph.D. or an equivalent research-focused degree before the start date for the position.
  • A proven track record in both teaching excellence (as an instructor of record as opposed to as a teaching assistant) and innovative curriculum development.
  • Passion for teaching organizational behavior (and related topics such as leadership, managing talent, or inclusive excellence) to undergraduates,MBAstudents, and Executives.
  • An evident program of research that is relevant to both academics and practitioners, and a demonstrated ability to publish peer-reviewed academic journal articles (articles for practitioner audience, peer-reviewed books, teaching cases, and other teaching materials are also valued).
  • Willingness to embrace Babson's unique approach to higher education.
  • Willingness to lead and collaborate as a team player with faculty from multiple disciplines to design and teach integrated business curricula.
  • Desire to invest in Babson's success through active engagement in the campus community and as a helpful colleague.
  • At least 12 months of work experience at the same place (outside of teaching or researching at a four-year institution), or equivalent, to quickly establish credibility in the classroom, especially withMBAstudents and Executives.
  • Comfort with technology and teaching in a blended/online environment, though most teaching occurs in-person and on-campus.
