The Land Acquisition Manager responsibilities include but are not limited to:



  • Lead a team to ensure all wells on EQT's operations schedule and non-operated schedule are drill ready prior to scheduled spud date
  • Prepare, negotiate and acquire agreements for oil and gas leasehold interests, mineral interests and other related contracts
  • Manage in-house landmen and land technicians who prepare, negotiate and acquire agreements for oil and gas leasehold interests, mineral interests and other related contracts
  • Review and evaluate title defects. Procure required curative as needed
  • Approve / waive procured curative items
  • Review and make recommendations and approvals of monthly lease extension payments and other obligations
  • Analyze data to confirm leasehold HBP status, including but not limited to map analysis, DEP and other governmental agency website data as well as production data.
  • Work closely with and provide information to various other sub-departments including Permitting, Title, Land Administration, Unit Development, Business Development, and Community Relations
  • Provide assistance to EQT's legal department to resolve claims and other civil matters
  • Lead teams to timely and efficient completion of complex land projects as needed.
  • Mentor Landmen I, II, III, and IVs and Ax Land Technicians.
  • Coordinate and distribute work assignments to Landmen and Land Technicians.



Required Experience and Skills:



  • 12+ years of land related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • Ability to build strong relationships.
  • Ability to persuade, negotiate, and close deals.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, prepare, negotiate, and acquire oil and gas leases and other related contracts.
  • Ability to prepare, analyze and read landman title. Ability to read and interpret Certified Title Opinions and heirship reports.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Ability to adapt and work under pressure.
  • Professional demeanor and proven ability to work in a team environment across cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Excellent mapping skills.
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and cloud based CRM applications.
  • Ability to prioritize work-flow based on specific deadlines.
  • Ability to manage stressful situations to a positive outcome.
  • Demonstrated ability to positively influence peers via actions and directives to accomplish organizational goals.
  • Possess excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.



Preferred Experience and Skills:



  • Post Graduate Degree.
  • AAPL/MLBC Memberships preferred with CPL.
  • Proficiency Creating Salesforce Reports and Dashboards.
  • Proficiency working in Arc GIS, specifically creating and working with shapefiles.
  • Proficiency analyzing and manipulating large data sets in Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficiency in conceptualizing and drafting workflow processes.
  • Proficiency drafting Knowledge Articles. (Standard Operating Procedures, How To's and 101s)



Remote work is being considered for this role excluding the following states: California, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, and Tennessee unless willing to relocate.


Selected incumbent will be placed into the position that best suits their abilities and experience level.
