We are currently searching for an experienced Environmental Lead to support our West Region located in Louisiana.

To be considered for this position, applicants must have, at minimum, BS in Environmental related degree(s) or related fields, and 20+ years of experience in a combined public and private sector in managing projects and professional staff.

What you'll be doing:

  • Manage current and prospective project contracts for Volkert's Louisiana Environmental and Design Group
  • Engage in necessary Business Development efforts in Louisiana on a regular and recurring basis to secure additional Volkert contracts (to include maintaining on a regular basis existing Volkert relationships AND making new contact relationships) that will lead to Environmental and Design Group profitability, monitoring RFQ and RFP statements, preparing responses as a sub and prime for these RFQ and RFP statements, preparing necessary proposals, letters of response, cost estimates and scopes of services.
  • Assist Volkert staff in performing adequate due diligence prior to pursuing projects as a Prime or as a Subconsultant to a Prime resulting in successful winnings for Volkert's Environmental Group:
    1. Volkert Staff meeting with client project managers and client key executives prior to pursuits
    2. Conducting due diligence of team partners to ensure a successful win
  • Engage in debriefings with clients to gain information that will provide useful information for future successful wins as a Prime and Sub
  • Manage Volkert Project Scopes, Time, Schedules, and Volkert Project Budgets for the Environmental Contracts as a Volkert Prime and Volkert Subconsultant to ensure a profit on each contract
  • Responsible for recruiting, mentoring, and management of Environmental Staff to ensure commitments are maintained on existing contracts and executed contracts that require future commitments from Volkert. This effort will result in profitability for Environmental Group projects and the overall Louisiana Environmental Group

What you need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental related degrees
  • 20+ years of experience in a combined public and private sector in managing projects and professional staff
  • Knowledgeable about NEPA, Air, Noise, Ecology, and Cultural Resources
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Volkert adheres to federal guidelines, which may include testing for substances such as marijuana. Please note that federal regulations may differ from state-specific guidelines
  • Valid driver's license
  • A satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR)
