Reports to: Accounts Payable/Receivable Supervisor
Summary:
This position will report to the Accounts Payable/Receivable Supervisor and will utilize common concepts, practices, and procedures within accounting. The position requires audit and participation of data entry, invoice preparation, verification of approvals and coding, and use of multiple processing platforms and software applications.
Responsibilities:
Including but not limited to:
- Audit and entry of invoices ensuring that vendors are paid accurately (ex: proper sales/use tax compliance) and in a timely manner while complying with company procure to pay controls
- Perform quality control audit procedures on invoices from multiple field and corporate locations
- Complete month end processes as required and distribute reports or data
- Handle inquiries from internal and external customers pertaining to payment disbursement
- Communicate with vendors, peers and management of all levels
- Serve as backup for Accounts Receivable processes, Accounts Payable payment approval process, and other department functions
- Serve as backup for 1099 reporting, month end accruals, troubleshooting problems with the AP automation system and payment provider
- Maintain the functionality, development and integrity of the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable modules in JD Edwards
- Meet Accounts Payable operational standards by implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying system improvements
- Oversee review and reconciliation of vendor statements
- Communicate with field locations as needed to maintain excellent customer service & enforce procedures
- Periodic review of reports and invoices to maintain process integrity
- Carry out assigned job duties while maintaining Lane values
Qualifications:
- 2 years experience in AP and/or AR related positions
- High school diploma (or equivalent) is required, 2-year degree is preferred
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
- ERP experience required, JD Edwards is a plus
