Stinson LLP is seeking an Attorney with at least seven years of experience to join the Healthcare & Insurance Division. The Division is home to attorneys providing transactional and regulatory counsel to healthcare providers, health plans, and pharmaceutical and medical device companies. Due to the diversity of these practice areas, this position presents a unique opportunity to shape a practice and provides the right candidate a robust platform to develop and grow a thriving health law practice.

Qualified candidates will have at least seven years of relevant experience (as described below), possess excellent academic credentials, and have exceptional research, writing, analytical, organizational, leadership and communication skills. More specifically, candidates should have experience with the following:



  • Advising covered entities and business associates on HIPAA privacy and security rules, including preparation of privacy and security compliance programs and breach/data incident response.
  • State-level health care consumer privacy laws, including their interaction with HIPAA, state breach reporting and response requirements, and state healthcare data notice and consent requirements.
  • Counseling clients on the intersection of HIPAA and state-level healthcare consumer privacy laws with 42 CFR Part 2, general consumer privacy, GDPR, and other privacy and security laws and regulations.
  • Developing expertise in regulatory issues associated with the development and deployment of AI in health plans, healthcare providers, and other healthcare entities.


Active license in the applicable jurisdiction or the ability to waive into practice is required.
