Duties: The Electrical Engineer for Modine Manufacturing Company in Buena Vista, VA will be responsible for selecting and implementing appropriate Electrical Components into all Modine Heating products. This role will be responsible for performing the following job duties: preparing product schematics and electrical panel layout diagrams for Modine products; participating in design meetings and communicating with the project coordinator, design, and application engineers; coordinating the panel-build with internal or external employees; maintaining accurate, updated revisions of schematics and product software programs during the testing phase and afterwards for archiving purposes; working with the other design engineers, project coordinator, and any plant personnel to verify the sequence of operation in order to effectively debug the product as part of the APQP design process; instructing, explaining, leading design groups related to the controls and electrical design of Modine products; and coordinating aspects of a given project, including project scheduling, purchasing components, evaluating new products, preparing manuals, and maintaining a project design file for permanent records. Up to 10% domestic travel to customer sites and Modine locations is required. Required Education & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field of study, plus 1 year of electrical engineering experience. Experience must include at least 1 year of experience with each of the following (1) AC/DC drive applications, power distribution, sensors, and CAD schematic development; (2) applicable electrical codes; NEC, UL (UL1995, UL60335, UL508a), IEC and CE; (3) designing electrical schematics, including selection of electrical components for system application and designing efficient wiring; (4) maintaining projects and timelines for changes to electrical systems; and (5) testing and diagnosing electrical systems, using electrical measurement equipment.
