Salary range:
Total Negotiated Salary (TNS) calculation includes AAMC salary benchmarks for Otolaryngology ranging from $360,366-$511,344. This position includes membership in the Health Science Compensation Plan, which provides for eligibility for additional compensation: https://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/_files/apm/apm-670.pdf Application Window Open date: July 22, 2025 Next review date: Friday, Sep 26, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Friday, Sep 26, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description The University of California, Irvine Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery is seeking qualified candidates to join our expanding department as an academic Laryngologist for appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level. The academic appointment may be in the Health Sciences (HS) Clinical or Clinical X Series, depending on experience and extent of research effort. Both HS and Clinical X faculty provide patient care; teach fellows, residents, and medical students; perform public and University service; and contribute to scholarly activities, but Clinical X faculty are expected to conduct more substantial research. * Criteria for the Professor of Clinical "X" Series: The incumbent will be expected to conduct substantial research; provide patient care; teach fellows, residents, and medical students; and perform public and University service. Excellent teaching is essential criteria for appointment in this series. An academic appointment in the Clinical X series also confers membership in the UCI Academic Senate. * Criteria for the Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series: The incumbent will be expected to teach fellows, residents, and medical students; provide patient care; contribute to scholarly activities; and provide public and University service. The successful applicant will be trained and experienced in all aspects of Laryngology with a commitment to excellent patient care, teaching excellence, academic service and demonstrated scholarly work. Comprehensive training and experience include voice, airway and swallowing and be facile in both endoscopic and open surgery. Academic rank will be based on training, experience, and academic contributions. Applicants must possess an M.D. or equivalent Degree, board certification or eligibility in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and have completed a fellowship in Laryngology. The successful candidate will actively participate in the departmental teaching mission and provide excellent patient care, perform university and public service, and be active in research.
