Remote Opportunity

Hanover Research seeks a dedicated qualitative researcher to join our dynamic, experienced qualitative research team. The Content Analyst role will support clients across our corporate industries. This researcher will play an integral role in the design, development, and implementation of qualitative research studies to support our market research efforts. Key job responsibilities designing discussion guides, scheduling and conducting interviews, as well as moderating focus groups with a wide range of participants via email, telephone, and videoconferencing.

In addition, the Analyst will analyze qualitative data and draft final deliverables that generate actionable insights. The Analyst is expected to manage multiple projects at once and should feel comfortable reaching out via phone to prospective experts. This position will allow for the swift development and refinement of a comprehensive set of qualitative research skills and provide the opportunity to develop a relationship with a young and rapidly growing enterprise. We expect all employees to be intellectually curious, ambitious, and interested in assuming increasing levels of responsibility. This position will report to the Director of Qualitative Research.

Responsibilities

  • Design interview and focus group protocols independently;
  • Identify appropriate contacts for in-depth interviews (IDIs);
  • Email contact lists to schedule interviews;
  • Conduct and record interviews/focus groups with industry experts or anyone relevant to our research in the industries and education sectors we serve;
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of contacts obtained;
  • Take and compile detailed notes to augment interview/focus group transcripts;
  • Distribute participant incentives;
  • Analyze transcripts using CAQDAS (computer assisted qualitative analysis software) and thematic coding independently;
  • Identify actionable insights and synthesize into a clear, concise report independently;
  • Redact and distribute reports, as applicable.

Qualifications

  • Willingness to tackle complex, often unfamiliar research requests;
  • Experience interacting professionallyover the phone or videoconference software;
  • High comfort level speaking with industry experts over the phone;
  • Experience conducting telephone interviews or telephone sales;
  • Experience with UX methods or moderating focus groups a plus;
  • Ability to work quickly and independently with minimal guidance or oversight;
  • Ability to work under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced environment;
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Experience writing and researching for a business or professional audience;
  • Strong command of the English language and demonstrated writing and editing skills;
  • Ability to accept feedback and constructive critique positively;
  • Demonstrable problem solving skills;
  • Extremely strong and demonstrable work ethic;
  • High comfort level with Microsoft Office applications, such as Word, Excel, and Power Point.

Education Requirement
A Master's degree (preferred) in Anthropology, Sociology, Psychology, Political Science, or other social science, though candidates with relevant experience will be considered.

Experience Requirement
2 - 4 years of business or academic experience conducting qualitative research and writing professionally. Applied market research experience is preferred.

Compensation

Hanover Research strives to create compensation and benefits programs that are competitive, equitable and fair.Thecompensationrangefor this role at the company is $52,370- $70,000. Please note that the base salary offered is contingent on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Our base pay range is determined by the role and the market.
