This Position reports to:

Service Sales Manager

A Technical Inside Sales Specialist plays a fundamental role in achieving our ambitious revenue growth objectives. You must be comfortable multitasking and interacting directly with ABB Customers. You will build relationships internally with the Operations Teams, Commercial Proposal Managers, Sales Managers and Administrators. You will also rely on and work with Channel Partners and Manufacturers' Representatives. You should be comfortable being the key point of contact for many customers that have immediate urgent needs. A certain level of technical knowledge of electrical products and services will be expected. An ability to learn processes quickly and think creatively will be necessary to add value to customers. This position operates is a dynamic environment where it is imperative to be able to organize, prioritize and have confidence to respond.

The work model for the role is: remote (#Li-Remote) with 10% travel.

This role is contributing to the Electrification Services business.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Customer Engagement & Sales Support: Maintain a positive, friendly, and helpful attitude with customers, addressing their needs effectively. Assist outside sales with quotations, order processing, and internal communications, while also sourcing new sales opportunities and routing qualified leads to appropriate sales managers.
  • Spare Parts Champion Role: Manage 2-5 key corporate spare parts accounts, including sales relationship management, forecasting, proposal generation, and order processing. Collaborate with procurement and vendors (internal and external) to fulfill customer needs and ensure smooth handoff to operations.
  • Proposal & Order Management: Generate standard and configured-to-order proposals by coordinating with factory teams, Aftermarket Parts Channel Managers, and Commercial Proposal Managers. Process product and service quotations, follow up through the purchasing cycle, and ensure timely order processing and handoff to operations.
  • Strategic Sales & Market Insight: Support closing orders and achieving quotas, strengthen relationships with ABB partner organizations, and assist with new customer setup. Gather and report market intelligence to aid in planning and strategy development

Qualifications for the role

  • Educational Background & Experience: Bachelor's degree with 0-3 years of relevant experience, or High School Diploma/GED with 2-4 years of relevant experience. A technical or engineering degree is preferred.
  • Spare Parts Expertise: Proven experience handling spare parts proposals, order processing, and customer interactions. Capable of managing proposals with hundreds of part numbers and handling transactions exceeding $300K. Familiarity with Bills of Lading (BOL) is a plus.
  • Sales & Proposal Development: Strong background in proposal/quote development, sales support, or order administration. Experience in business-to-business customer support is preferred.
  • Industry Knowledge: General understanding of power transmission and distribution products/systems is preferred, supporting effective communication and solution development for customers.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant's qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $92,500 and $171,500 annually and is eligible for a short-term incentive plan/annual bonus.
