Requisition #: 1073 Job Title : Intern - Agile Defense Labs Clearance Level: Active DoD - Background Check Salary Range: $18 - $33 SUMMARY The Agile Defense Labs Internship Program offers aspiring professionals a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience within a dynamic product organization. Interns will contribute to real-world projects, learn agile methodologies, and develop critical skills in product management and business analysis, all while supporting the Workforce Product Owner in delivering innovative solutions. This program is designed to foster growth, provide mentorship, and prepare participants for successful careers in the tech industry. The Intern will join the Agile Defense Labs engineering team to help build and enhance our suite of AI-driven cybersecurity and automation products. This role is ideal for someone eager to gain hands-on experience with modern software development practices, cloud-native architectures, and cutting-edge technologies used in enterprise and defense environments. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Contribute to the development of backend services, APIs, and integrations for Agile Defense Labs' products * Support front-end development, UX improvements, and bug fixes in collaboration with design and QA teams * Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code under the guidance of senior engineers * Participate in code reviews and agile development ceremonies * Assist in building automated tests and improving CI/CD pipelines * Research emerging tools, libraries, or frameworks that could enhance product performance and reliability * Help improve developer documentation and internal technical knowledge bases Education, Background, and Years of Experience * Strong programming fundamentals in at least one modern language (e.g., Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go, or Java) * Basic understanding of software development lifecycle and version control (Git/GitHub) * Familiarity with REST APIs and cloud services * Strong problem-solving and debugging skills * Ability to learn new technologies quickly ADDITIONAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS Required Skills * Experience with React, Next.js, or similar front-end frameworks * Exposure to backend frameworks such as Node.js, Django, or FastAPI * Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) * Knowledge of basic security practices and secure coding principles * Prior contributions to open-source projects or GitHub portfolio. Preferred Skills * Hybrid or remote-friendly depending on location and business needs * Requires regular collaboration with distributed engineering teams via Slack and Zoom * Flexible work hours with agreed-upon milestones and deliverables * Development environment, repositories, and required tools will be provisioned Strength Demands * Sedentary - 10 lbs. Maximum lifting, occasional lift/carry of small articles. Some occasional walking or standing may be required.
