Associate Environmental Engineers, Brown and Caldwell, 111 W Jackson Blvd, Suite 1700, Chicago, IL 60604: The Associate Environmental Engineer will work on multi-year complex wastewater projects. Job Duties: Perform engineering work with the Solids and Energy Specialty team on wastewater projects including solids processing and handling, biosolids end use, anaerobic digestion, biogas utilization, thermal dryers, and sewage sludge incinerators for municipal clients. Work with teams on engineering designs, preparing reports, construction drawings, specifications, calculations, and equipment selection for various projects. Analysis and design of solids and energy projects at wastewater treatment plants. Preparation of technical memoranda, reports, and electronic deliverables. Studies, permitting, and alternatives analysis. Check performance or conformity with plans and specifications through field inspections as part of engineering services during construction. Participate in work groups and organizations to benefit the company's knowledge of issues and to understand client needs. Coordinate and perform field site visits, including coordination with clients/owners, consultants, contractors, designers and regulatory agencies. Prepare environmental studies, technical memoranda, reports and electronic deliverables to meet regulatory requirements. Provide engineering services during construction, including coordinating responses to contractor questions and review of shop drawings. Technical and quality control review of study, design planning documents. Coordinate with project managers, client service managers and other project personnel from other disciplines. Provide consultation in specialized technical areas of expertise. Make recommendations, decisions, and solve problems. Work collaboratively groups across the Area and Company. The basic annual salary is one hundred seven thousand and ninety-nine dollars with standard company benefits. Local telecommuting is permitted, up to 2 days per week. Local travel is required up to 20% of the work time.

Minimum requirements: Master's degree (foreign equivalent degrees accepted) in Mechanical Engineering, or related field required, two years of experience in any related occupation working on wastewater treatment plant solids and energy. A Professional Engineer license from any U.S. jurisdiction is required.
