The Associate Medical Director, US Neurology Medical Affairs will provide medical leadership for medical affairs strategy planning and supportive tactics on diagnostics for early Alzheimer's disease (AD). Under the direction of the Vice President of US Neurology Medical Affairs, this role will be responsible for supporting the development of overall AD diagnostic strategy to enable early AD patients to receive anti-amyloid treatment. The Associate Medical Director will drive the diagnostic strategy by executing medical education plans and the resources needed. Also, lead the development of strategic external stakeholder engagement/management plan including biomarker experts, diagnostic companies and independent clinical laboratories as well as conduct medical advisory boards as needed on AD diagnostics. In near term, this role will be critical for educating around the importance of Blood Based Biomarker (BBM) adoption into clinical practice.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support the development of overall AD diagnostic strategy in medical affairs
  • Lead the development of medical education plans on AD diagnosis and ensure alignment with overall medical affairs strategy
  • Lead the development of MSL educational resources on AD diagnosis and provide guidance on the resources to MSLs
  • Lead the development of strategic external stakeholder engagement plans in AD diagnosis aligned with overall medical affairs strategy
  • Establish appropriate relationships with KOLs in AD diagnostic area, biomarker experts, diagnostic companies and independent clinical laboratories. Manage the engagement with them.
  • Lead medical advisory boards on AD diagnostic to obtain actionable insights driving our medical strategy
  • Support the development and execution of the congress activities and pre and post congress activities
  • Support the development of evidence generation plans needed to optimize AD diagnostic journey.
  • Serve as a medical leader and subject matter expert on AD diagnosis and proactively stay up to date for external education as well as internal training
  • Liaise with external stakeholders to solicit feedback and strengthen Eisai's medical reputation and presence in the AD community.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced scientific degree (MD, PhD, PharmD) with 4+ years of experience in the pharma/ biotech industry or in academia, OR a combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • Previous experience on diagnostics
  • Experience across areas of Medical Affairs' functions or phase II/III/IV clinical trials and diseases in the therapeutic area is preferred.
  • Proven performance in earlier role.

Eisai Salary Transparency Language:

The base salary range for the Associate Medical Director, US Medical Affairs is from :177,200-232,600 Under current guidelines, this position is eligible to participate in : Eisai Inc. Annual Incentive Plan & Eisai Inc. Long Term Incentive Plan.

Final pay determinations will depend on various factors including but not limited to experience level, education, knowledge, and skills.
