Leave of Absence and Employee Administrator

SUMMARY: The Leave of Absence (LOA) & Employee Administrator position will be responsible for all aspects of day- to-day LOA administration while ensuring compliance with all legal regulations, best practices, and company policies and procedures. This position also administrates Worker's Compensation and ADA requests and participates in administrating employee benefit plans.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties and special projects may be assigned.

  • Serves as the subject matter expert for the leave and workers' compensation programs.
  • Interprets and administers leave programs and policies in accordance with the applicable federal and state employment laws (FMLA, ADA, USERRA, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, etc.).
  • Stays current on state and federal leave of absence laws and regulations.
  • Manages LOA mailbox.
  • Administers leave of absence program, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations and company leave policies.
  • Tracks leaves and ensures that employee leave requests are processed and required documentation is collected and issued in a timely manner. All documentation deadlines must be met.
  • Works with employees and third-party benefits administration vendor to ensure collection of benefits premiums occurs while employees are on leave.
  • Works with payroll personnel to coordinate payment of sick and vacation hours during leave of absence as well as coordination/integration with state disability insurance and paid family leave benefits (where applicable).
  • Ensures contact is made with employees on leave to monitor progress and return to work date.
  • Works with managers and human resources personnel to monitor leaves and provide regular status reports.
  • Collects information on employee incidents/injuries and provides to Worker's Compensation carrier. Handles subsequent WC related correspondence, administration and coordination with Leave programs, as applicable.
  • Provides support to management with ADA interactive process and assists with responses to accommodation requests
  • Coordinates use of lactation space for returning mothers.
  • Develops and implements leave administration best practices.
  • Handles all OSHA, WC, and other LOA related annual reporting requirements.
  • Assists with the administration of employee benefits plan (medical, dental, vision, etc.)
  • Adheres to and complies with applicable, federal and state laws, regulations and guidance, including those related to anti-money laundering (i.e. Bank Secrecy Act, US PATRIOT Act, etc.).
  • Adheres to Bank policies and procedures and completes required training.
  • Identifies and reports suspicious activity.

EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field or equivalent experience preferred
EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of 1-2 years of broad-based human resource experience, LOA administration experience required
  • 1-2 years of experience with employee benefits administration preferred

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Professional certification (PHR/SPHR) helpful.
