The Financial Analyst II - Corporate Analytics & Credit is a professional with a working knowledge of and some experience with analytics principles, practices, concepts, and theories in the Power and Utilities sector. The incumbent will play an analytical role in advancing financial strategies, initiating innovative concepts, exploring new ideas, assisting with complex projects, solving intricate analytical problems and providing support to Cleco's businesses' objectives for decision making. The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating credit support requirements for customers in alignment with Cleco's credit guidelines, in coordination with Advisor Middle Office and Treasurer. The incumbent will assist with analytical inputs into the overall corporate strategy and support routine analytical processes with moderate direction and supervision. The incumbent contributes to the development and implementation of analyses to understand, forecast, and sensitize the business units and enterprise impact resulting from ISO market participation. The incumbent will gain a detailed understanding of Cleco Corporate level financial modeling and the underlying variables driving business unit financial outcomes. Key Responsibilities
- Create financial models for decision support and in-depth analysis with a working knowledge of Cost of Service theory, Revenue requirements fundamentals, market fundamentals, and corporate finance
- Provide direct support to high priority strategic projects, collaborating with the lead analyst or advisor for thought-provocation, implementation, and execution
- Monitor credit risk exposure, produce credit risk reports, and track credit support provided by Cleco and in Cleco's favor
- Act as main point of contact with Marketing regarding credit requirements for prospective customers, analyzing counterparty credit risk for risk exposures to help the business better manage portfolio risk exposure
- Communicate and support reconciliation of credit exposure, margin calls and collateral requirements
- Contribute to production cost modeling analyses and support modeling effort for recurring and ad hoc specialized projects
- Proactively assist with communication efforts with teams across the organization to inform, educate, and implement strategies as market insight dictates
- Assist with development, calibration, and maintenance of ISO market models; support the organization's MISO reporting functions; provide Cleco Power gas nomination support
- Prepare presentation materials incorporating results of the analysis and ensuring materials are shown and explained in a manner tailored to the audience
- Contribute to routine operational analyses, special projects, and corporate modeling
- Collaborate with other functions within Corporate Analytics as a support and cross-training function
- Develop relationships to be an effective business partner with assigned business functions or subject matter professionals to support Corporate Analytics business objectives
- Actively engage in process improvement initiatives to enhance Corporate Analytics service delivery and processes; identify areas for automation to reduce routine manual tasks
- Stay up to date with all department software with a continued focus on utilizing tools to improve accuracy and efficiency of Corporate Analytics; participate in the integration of current systems (e.g., SAP) and analytical techniques to enhance/streamline current operations

Qualifications RequiredEducation, Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field
- 3+ years of related experience
- Experience with Microsoft tools and applications required
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, planning, and project management skills
- Strong interpersonal, communications, writing, speaking, listening and storytelling skills
- Strong understanding of how economic trends, political situations, policies, and regulations may affect analysis
- Willingness and aptitude for innovative, creative, and new thought
- Willingness and ability to learn new technologies on the job
- Ability to exercise judgment with limited direction/guidance but also knows when to escalate to the Director, Corporate Analytics
- Proficient at functioning effectively within a team environment, present ideas, and opinions in a respective and collegial manner
- Progression to this level is strictly restricted based on critical individual capabilities and business requirements; must be supported by market survey data.
