Apply Job Overview The Credit Underwriter-Consumer will underwrite Indirect Auto Loans from Dealership and Direct/Branch Consumer Loans. Direct loans consist of Auto, Personal, Preferred Checking, Business Credit Cards, Cash Value Line of Credit, Marine, - RV loans. In addition, Small Business products up to $100,000. Expected Work Hours 40 Job Description Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Underwrite Indirect - Direct Consumer Loans, Build/Maintain Relationships with Dealers, Branches and Sales Teams. Interact with all Consumer Loan related departments verbally and written (90%). Underwrite and maintain credit policy standards, use sound judgment to appropriately make exceptions, prioritize the flow of loans to ensure that Dealer Credit Decisions are worked first, participate in team efforts to achieve departmental/company goals. Answer incoming calls and maintain exceptional customer service. Process adjustments required for Funding, Interact with Collections on loans with totaled autos or death claims, resolve loans and other inquiries with Customer Service and Branches; have Periodic visits/functions with Sales Reps, negotiate loan decisions with dealers. Review CAL Lease Packages for accuracy within program guidelines for credit and structure. Assist in system upgrades, testing, rate changes, report verification, audits reviews to meet the department needs. Requirements Required Skills: Excellent customer service, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to handle a high volume of loan applications with accuracy. Ability to interact with dealer finance managers, branch personnel and other Bank departments. Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram or schedule form. Ability to prioritize and multi-task. Intermediate computer skills with knowledge of email, Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to read and interpret Credit Reports, Credit Matrices, to render a decision. Required Experience: High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of 3 years Consumer Credit/Auto Loan Experience (Direct/Indirect). Bachelor's Degree in related field is preferred.
