This position will serve as a Clinical Research Coordinator within the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, working closely with the School of Social Work. The Clinical Research Coordinator is responsible for the planning, organization, and conduct of clinical research study protocols, including independently collecting and recording data, obtaining informed consent from study participants, project administration, and communication with various stakeholders. The position will work on projects led by Drs. Tess Thompson and Bridgette Thom, assistant professors at the UNC School of Social Work who are also members of Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the field assigned and one year of related training or experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to work and communicate with a range of populations effectively and professionally over the phone, through electronic communication, and in person. Must have ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and function as part of a team in a collaborative and multidisciplinary environment. Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Experience using REDCap and accessing/interpreting electronic health records.

Experience communicating with a variety of individuals in clinical settings, including patients, caregivers, and clinical staff.

Experience coordinating responsibilities on multiple research projects.

Familiarity with Institutional Review Board ( IRB) applications and processes.
Experience developing standard operating procedures.
Experience collecting data from qualitative interviews.
Spanish fluency and/or previous work with multilingual teams would be a plus.
