The Area Sales Performance Manager directs a team within assigned area of responsibility. Leads all forms of ancillary revenue and customer service within assigned area. Identifies revenue and service opportunities and develops and executes growth strategies. Trains and coaches RSPMs and Field Management, in implementing appropriate processes and methods to achieve and exceed goals. Partner with North American Operations, Human Resources, Marketing, Sales and IT to develop plans and programs focused on operational and service excellence and the respective training and communication needed to achieve the company's financial, strategic and Customer Led objectives.
Participates in and may organize and control the activities of project teams, assigning personnel to the various aspects of the project and directing their activities. Collaborate with the appropriate stakeholders to transition great customer "ideas" to execution and implementation. Responsible and accountable for the ultimate project achievement and relative metrics for success. Assists in the management of all phases of the project life cycle, including analysis, design, development, testing and implementation. Participates in and may coordinate project related activities with other functional groups or external vendors. What you'll do: Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Partners with various business units within the company to identify and analyze areas of sales and revenue generation opportunities for products and/or services. Develops strategies to execute opportunities in support of business goals.
- Develops strong relationships at all levels to facilitate attainment of Avis Budget Group's revenue and service goals
- Communicates with and supports Area Key Stakeholders to ensure the ABG Service and Sales process is being followed in an ethical and approved manner.
- Partner with Area finance team to analyze and adjust incentive program to optimize cost of sale.
- MonitorsSRPM's overall effectiveness, productivity, and results. Executes local training programs while keeping up to date on new training methods and techniques.
- Trains, mentors, and coaches management and associates in revenue generation performance and overall sales and service effectiveness.
- Develops and maintains Counter Sales training materials.
- Think creatively about ways in which we can optimize each customer's car rental experience and enhance their experience by offering products suited to their individual needs.
- Demonstrates an ability to determine root cause analysis and utilize resources to provide appropriate solutions.
- Assists in developing and reporting on process metrics around service level performance and revenue generation performance.
- Develops and produces metrics and analysis presentations for executives.
- Leads assigned Division projects and is responsible for tracking key project milestones, escalating issues, and adjusting project plans to accurately reflect the project's progress.
- Responsible for project planning, scheduling, and status reporting.
- Focus project design efforts on the needs of key users.
Supervisory Responsibilities Ensures proper staffing and scheduling to maximize the effectiveness of the SRPM function. Conducts annual performance appraisals for direct reports, recommends salary increases, provides individual feedback to improve performance, and initiates corrective action in response to personnel problems. Oversees the training of new employees to perform their duties in a manner consistent with company standards.
What we're looking for: Required Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field required.
- Minimum of five (5) years Airport or Local Market Operations experience. Experience interacting with all levels of management/staff and across company lines required.
- Minimum of seven (7) years management experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong strategic planning, problem solving, analytical management and implementation skills.
- Knowledge and prior experience of ancillary sales, performance leadership, training, and/or Quality Assurance standards.
- Knowledge and understanding of effective sales techniques and principles.
- Strong interpersonal, organization, and time management skills.
- Strong PC skills including knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Persuasive and motivational verbal and written communication and presentation skills with all audience levels including line employees as well as senior executives
- Ability to balance cyclical daily, weekly and monthly demands with project work in a fast paced environment with high volume and complex demands.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage successfully towards timelines.
- Exceptional negotiating, influencing and persuasion skills such as the ability to use data to support recommendations and influence outcomes
- Ability to deal with ambiguity - ask questions, state assumptions and move forward - and adapt to change rapidly in response to business conditions and priorities
- Ability to build effective partnerships and relationships with various levels of the Company
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to provide direction and support to others
- Willingness to take risks in proposing new and innovative ideas based on research, collaboration, and creativity
- Travel Industry experience is a plus
