Job Summary: The Director of Project Management Operations is a leadership role that develops, executes, and maintains business initiatives that promote continuous improvement focused on employee development, process and procedures, and systems/tools for Operations and Project Management. This role plays a critical part in the overall growth and evolution of operational functions. Job Duties and Responsibilities: Develop and implement creative initiatives to support Project Management & Operational improvement. Core competency PMO pillars are: Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) & Best Practices Tools & Systems Training & Development Governance & Lessons Learned Overall Support for Project Managers and Operational teams Establish a PMO roadmap with innovative objectives which promote quality, operational efficiency, and superior internal & external customer experience. Lead and support the Quality department to accomplish our goals. Lead and support the Sr. PM-PMO team to accomplish our goals. Lead and support the standup of formal programs and/or Program Managers. Partner with the Employee Development department to achieve complementary goals. Support IES Services best practices, innovations, and software/system to drive Service business unit growth. Create and deliver motivational content to the Operations and Project Management community. Delivered in the forms of formal training, presentations, etc. As needed, act as internal mentor for management when there are significant project challenges. As needed, act as an internal escalation point for complex and high-risk project scenarios. As needed, act as senior Company liaison for interface with customer representative(s). Other responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Physical and Mental Requirements: Must be extremely self-motivated, positive in approach, professional and lead others to create, develop and implement project process improvement(s). Must promote the Company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients and business partners (listed below in job description). Must possess proven problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively read, write and give oral presentation(s). Must have proven high skill level to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including but not limited to, specifications, reporting and quality requirements. Must actively participate as a member of the Strategic Management team. Must have excellent organizational skills, time management skills, and leadership skills. Must be technologically advanced in leveraging tools and systems to promote organizational efficiencies. Must be able to travel on an as needed basis. Travel is not consistent; but usually no more than 25%. Must possess the ability to learn Company project management systems. Regular attendance is mandatory. Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements: Must have experience in customer interface roles, such as liaison between the customer and the Company. Must possess a minimum of seven (7) years of supervisory or managerial experience, preferably in Operations/Project Management. Must have a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in low voltage telecommunications or a related technical or construction field. Formal PMO leadership experience is preferred but not required. PMP certification is preferred but not required. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and MS Project). Must meet Company minimum driving standards. Must be able to manage multiple tasks/initiatives simultaneously. Must have demonstrated verifiable ability to define a project, create a project scope of work, develop detailed associated tasks and manage these to final completion and customer turnover.
