Your new team

This position sits in our Chivas Brothers business. At Chivas Brothers, our 1,600-strong team across 27 sites is committed to upholding the heritage of Scotch and ensuring its sustainable future, as well as opening it up to new audiences across the globe.

The scope of Operations stretches from Procurement through conversion (distillation and maturation) and manufacturing (or bottling) to all the downstream Supply Chain activities until the final product is delivered. In addition, Operations play a very active role in Innovation, Talent Development and Operational Risk Management.

Our Production function encompasses everything from the distilling of our products, through to Filling, Maturation, Warehousing, and the final Draining & Vatting.

Northern Operations is all our sites across the North of Scotland, this includes 12 Distilleries, Animal Feed and Bio-Plants, Heritage Sites, Bulk Warehousing Sites, Blending and Dispatch terminals and laboratory complex.

The Engineering team are responsible for a wide range of engineering activities, from asset care to multi-disciplinary engineering projects.

Your unique contribution

The Distillery Support Technician will be responsible for supporting Northern Operations by delivering and collecting items across our sites and providing practical assistance to the Engineering stores for moving items and plant.

You will have three main areas of responsibility:

  • Operations Support - to collect and deliver internal mail items, parts and various supplies across the northern sites. This will also occasionally include longer runs to deliver and collect items for Heritage and Brand Homes.
  • Engineering Stores - to assist Engineering stores with the movement of items or plant and general housekeeping/layout as required.
  • Vehicle Care - to be responsible for the mail run van, including general upkeep, reporting any defects to the Fleet Manager and keeping the van clean and tidy (internally and externally).

Who you'll be working with

Internally, you'll collaborate with the wider Production team, for example Maintenance, Engineering and Malt Distilleries as well as with colleagues in Heritage and Brand Homes.

Externally, you will collaborate with contractors, consultants, and suppliers, to ensure delivery of services to the highest standard.

Your blend of talent

This position could be right for you if you:

  • Possess a full UK driving licence and be willing to drive 100 miles plus on a daily basis.
  • Are trained and certified to use a Forklift Truck (or at least be willing to undertake the training).
  • Have a proactive approach and able to take responsibility for the organisation and prioritisation of workload dependent on sites requirements.
  • Have understanding of and commitment to Health & Safety legislation.
