JOB SUMMARY:

Supervises the daily operations of the Hotel Market / Gift Shop which includes retail items, coffee shop, and fresh/packaged food items such as pastries and sandwiches. Assist with ensuring all items are stocked and rotated properly. Responsible for creating 5 star retail experience to include customer-focus, cleanliness and overall presentation of the outlet, and taking note of new or additional items that are requested and that may have potential of increasing sales and profit for the outlet. The Market Supervisor will also assist with keeping department Associates updated on resort activities and amenities, as well as community-related offerings and activities and encourage the team to be a resource for inquiring guests.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:



  • Assist with hiring, training, and coaching department associates fairly and professionally.
  • Ensure all Associates provide a friendly and professional experience for customers.
  • Assist with development of employee schedules each week.
  • Assist with reports and timekeeping.
  • Assist with period-end inventory.
  • Assist with purchasing and inventory.
  • Ensure all Associates properly welcome and greet guests.
  • Conduct self in a professional manner with the awareness that all actions and communications are within guest view.
  • Collect and process forms of payment.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Minimum age requirement - 18+
  • Food Handlers certificate.
  • Encourage OSHA Hazard Communication Standard training and certification.


ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Previous F&B or retail experience preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Previous purchasing experience preferred.
  • Requires problem solving abilities.
  • Requires excellent oral and written communications skills; basic math skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, email, and general office equipment including scanning, filing, faxing.
  • Comprehend reading materials, speak, read and write English.
  • Must have neat and pleasant overall appearance.
