Job Responsibilities |
Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Students & Title IX Coordinator, the Program Coordinator provides support for key programs and initiatives focused on inclusion and belonging, enhancing the student experience by building community where students can thrive.. This position provides administrative and logistical support for programs such as the Inclusion Dinner, Spirit of Identity Week, and other University traditions and events. The Program Coordinator will be a key campus partner who contributes to committee work, annual events, training and development.
Responsibilities
- Support the work of the Office of Multicultural Affairs by providing strategic and administrative assistance including generating program ideas, coordinating logistics, managing day-today operations, and ensuring timely and effective follow-through on initiatives
- Support student success through establishing and maintaining relationships with students, student organizations and campus partners
- Assist with the planning and coordination of Inclusion Dinner, Spirit of Identity Week, ALAANA Dinner and other department-supported programming
- Collaborate with University departments, student organizations to enhance program impact and foster an inclusive campus culture
- Support Student Affairs Division events such as Move-in, Orientation, Welcome Week, Family Weekend, Commencement, etc.
- Draft content and design social media assets that contribute to the visibility efforts for the Office of Multicultural Affairs and its initiatives
- Maintains accurate records of Multicultural Affairs and student organization events and initiatives including proposals, budgets, contacts, contracts, media/publicity, and evaluations
- Represents the Office of Multicultural Affairs at recruitment events on campus as needed
- Provide appropriate referrals for academic, personal, and professional support
- Collaborate with the Offices of Student Conduct and Safety & Security to enhance education related to preventing and responding to bias related incidents, in compliance with NYS 129A law
- This position may be trained to facilitate resolutions under the University Non-Discrimination and Anti-Harassment Policy
- Other duties as assigned
This position will require some evening and weekend hours during the semester and at times extended hours. |
