This is a/an 92% full-time equivalency (FTE) job with months off. The number of months off will be determined by the position's FTE percentage. The timing of months off will be set to meet the needs of the unit and the essential duties of the position. Questions related to HR105 FTE positions should be directed to the hiring manager during the interview process. This position is eligible for benefits associated with any full-time position. The salary grade and range listed in the posting is reflective of a 100% Full-time position. Full-time equivalency job offers may fall outside of the listed range due to the assigned percentage of effort.

POSITION SPECIFICS

Penn State Lehigh Valley invites applications for the position of Athletic Programs Specialist. Reporting to the Athletic Director, this full-time role is critical to supporting all facets of the campus athletic program, with responsibilities spanning game-day operations, marketing and media, fitness center management, student-athlete support, and recruiting coordination.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinating all athletic website and social media content, including game-day stories, statistics, team rosters, and promotional highlights

  • Planning and implementing promotional game-day events and halftime performances

  • Managing athletic schedules, contracts, travel arrangements, and compliance reports

  • Supervising fitness center operations, staff scheduling, and equipment maintenance

  • Supporting student-athlete academic tracking, retention initiatives, and award programming

  • Leading recruitment strategies in collaboration with Admissions and coaching staff

  • Designing and promoting campus-wide intramural and wellness programming

  • Maintaining compliance with PSUAC/USCAA guidelines and University policies

This position is central to the continued success of athletics and student wellness programming at Penn State Lehigh Valley and plays a direct role in student engagement and campus community development.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in athletic administration, game-day management, compliance, or fitness programming is strongly preferred

  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student development

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree 3+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None

BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES

This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $42,100.00 - $61,000.00.
