Program Overview:Our Nurse Technician Program is designed to provide nursing students with practical experience under the guidance of registered nurses. This program fosters immersion in Akron Children's culture and aims to inspire participants to pursue RN positions upon graduation. Unit Overview:The Hematology/Oncology Unit provides specialized care for pediatric patients diagnosed with various types of cancer and blood disorders. This unit serves patients of all ages, with many requiring long-term care or end-of-life support. Hematology/Oncology nurses are essential in providing not only clinical care but also emotional support for children and their families during difficult times.
