McWane Plant & Industrial (MPI) in Exeter, CA is a recognized leader in water control products for water treatment, wastewater, high-volume agricultural and rural surface water delivery, hydro-power, and flood control management. We are a leading provider of water control gates, valves, automated controls and accessories to these markets and key customers such as government agencies (water districts, utilities, flood control districts) and agricultural water users (growers, cooperatives).

MPI has one of the industry's largest manufacturing operations where we fabricate, machine, and test our water control products based out of Exeter, California. Job Description

Directly reports to: Facilities Superintendent

Position Summary

The Production Manager provides leadership to the AG Production Department engaged in expediting the flow of material, parts, and assemblies within the department, and working closely with the Production Scheduler engaged in scheduling production operations by performing the following duties:

Directly supervises team members in the AG Production Department. Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include overseeing the interviewing, hiring, and training team members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance and rewarding team members addressing complaints and resolving concerns.

The proven ability to drive innovation from ideation through product process, identification of product adjacencies, identification, and execution of cost savings initiatives & product rationalization, are highly valued. The successful candidate will have ambition, drive, strong technical knowledge, and experience in the product management arena. A highly entrepreneurial spirit and sense of urgency with a passion for the industry is desirable, along with a drive to grow both personally and professionally.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following:

  • 1st Responsibility - Ensuring personal safety and the safety of team members.
  • Proactively promotes The McWane Way principles.
  • Evaluate written data such as job orders, product specifications and operations sheets, parts and materials inventory lists, and machine and worker production rates, to establish efficient allocation and scheduling of parts, materials, machines, and sequences of operations and workflow.
  • Confers with Ag production personnel to resolve issues affecting production schedules.
  • Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.
  • Issues written and oral instructions.
  • Assigns projects and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of the team.
  • Maintains harmony among team members and a problem solver.
  • Adjusts errors and complaints.
  • Monitor and influence service and inventory levels to achieve customer delivery expectations, by actively connecting cross-functionally to understand market trends and develop product line forecasts.
  • Perform other duties and initiatives assigned with the same drive, determination, and dedication to excellence.

Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication

Education/Experience

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
