Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Director of Internal Communications to lead our global internal communications strategy and manage our enterprise-wide communications channels and platforms. In this highly visible role, this senior leader will develop and execute compelling, globally coordinated, multi-channel communications that drive employee engagement and support JLL's strategic priorities across the entire organization. They will work with senior leadership to provide vital communications support for major change initiatives and strategic projects.

This individual will champion JLL's brand, purpose, culture and values, positioning JLL as an employer of choice and the premier global corporate real estate services provider. The position requires a focused, creative, forward-thinking and solutions-oriented professional with extensive experience working in a global organization and the ability to align communications with business priorities while maintaining a strong focus on employee experience.

While the role has several direct reports, this individual will be comfortable collaborating with other communications teams, including corporate functions communications, public relations and digital teams, and leveraging shared resources to deliver impactful communications.

This position reports to JLL's Global Head of Corporate Communications and will be located in Chicago or London.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead the implementation of a comprehensive, enterprise-wide internal communications strategy that supports JLL's business objectives and enhances employee engagement
  • Oversee the management and optimization of all internal communications channels and platforms, ensuring consistent messaging and maximum effectiveness
  • Oversee development of strong programme of engaging enterpise-wide news and content which brings the company and its strategy to life for colleagues and helps build a One JLL culture
  • Design and execute transversal internal campaigns that reach across the entire organization to drive awareness, understanding and action on key enterprise initiatives
  • Collaborate closely with senior leadership to develop and deliver impactful messaging for highly confidential and strategic projects, providing critical communications support for change management initiatives, major strategy rollouts, and transformative shifts in organizational direction.
  • Lead the evolution of our internal communications channels, introducing innovative approaches and new technologies to enhance reach and engagement
  • Establish governance, best practices and measurement frameworks for internal communications channels to ensure consistency, quality and effectiveness
  • Drive collaboration between various communications teams to ensure alignment and consistency across all internal communications
  • Lead measurement and analysis of internal communications effectiveness, using data to continuously improve approach and demonstrate value
  • Manage and develop a team of communications professionals, fostering a culture of creativity, excellence and continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (English, Journalism, Communications, Public Relations) with superior writing and problem-solving skills
  • 10+ years' experience in internal communications, including channel management and enterprise-wide campaign development
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing effective internal communications strategies in a large, global organization
  • Deep expertise in managing multiple communications channels and platforms, with knowledge of best practices and emerging trends
  • A quick, strategic and creative thinker with demonstrated success in translating broad concepts and ideas into clear, multi-channel communications
  • Outstanding executive presence and comfort interacting with senior executives
  • Experience leading cross-functional communications initiatives that span an entire organization
  • Strong understanding of employee engagement principles and how communications can drive cultural change
  • Superb written, digital and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft engaging messages that resonate across diverse audiences
  • Proven track record working collaboratively across fast-paced and entrepreneurial global, matrix-oriented organizations
  • Expert stakeholder management skills and ability to navigate company dynamics and structure
  • Proven leadership and coaching experience that fosters an environment of inclusion, problem solving, and attracts and retains superior talent
  • Ability to work within a deadline-driven environment and manage multiple complex tasks
  • Passion for bringing simplicity and continuous improvement to all aspects of work
  • Experience with communications measurement and analytics

Estimated total compensation for this position:

139,400.00 - 185,000.00 USD per year

The total compensation range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on an applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data .
