Senior Director ERP Applications

General Summary of Position
Oversees the operation and strategic planning of enterprise resource planning (ERP) applications. Provides vision, leadership, and direction for all aspects of ERP application functional support and quality assurance. Plans, coordinates, and directs activities that support and enhance business operations. Identifies, establishes and maintains strong strategic relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners. In collaboration with the ERP technical team, business stakeholders, and vendor partners, helps plan, prioritize, and deliver high-quality solutions.
Leads enterprise-wide communication and change management initiatives, ensuring alignment and adoption across business units. Effectively translates complex technical concepts into business value and builds consensus among diverse stakeholders. Establishes and maintains an efficient application support model, including team leadership, time management, and resource allocation. Develops and implements standards, processes, and procedures that ensure a high-quality, responsive application support environment. Oversees all financial aspects of operational and capital budgets within their area of responsibility. Fosters a culture of accountability, professional development, and high performance. Serves as a trusted advisor to senior departmental leadership, offering insights into market trends, operational improvements, and strategic opportunities. Acts as a change agent, actively contributing to the definition of departmental goals and strategies and leading initiatives that improve operational efficiency, elevate team performance, and support long-term organizational success.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Contributes to the development of department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations
  • Assists AVP in establishing key performance metrics and measures for application support service lines in assigned areas of responsibility. Provides updates to AVP on metrics and trends to assess the success of application support models as well as to proactively identify opportunities for improvements.
  • Assists AVP to develop department operation and capital Budget. Maintains departmental capital and operation budget and ensures that department operates within budget.
  • Formulates and establishes business analysis, systems analysis, quality assurance strategies and initiatives.
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with business stakeholders. Effectively interacts with all levels of corporate, clinical, and business unit staffs demonstrating mutual respect, courtesy and concern about user issues and problems, and provides timely follow through.
  • Reviews all functional and technical specifications prior to initial development to ensure that recommended solutions are consistent with related functionality within the appropriate application(s). Fully Accountable for Spec sign off.
  • Ensures that all changes to systems are tested according to change management policies and procedures to ensure compliance of software changes with business requirements. Assures that audit documentation is complete and accurate. Timely and Effective communication to all impact business areas.
  • Provides leadership and project management oversight. Establishes clear project scope, realistic timeframes, and budgetary requirements; Ensures that newly developed/implemented systems/new functionalities comply with the system/functional design requirements and with contractual requirements as well as achieving successful user acceptances.
  • Leads ERP functional teams in supporting incidents, problem resolution, and system enhancements across FIN, SCM, and HCM modules. Provides leadership to the QA team by delivering reliable, automated testing to ensure quality and meet project timelines. Stays current with evolving ERP features and functionalities while proactively identifying opportunities to optimize business processes. Leads and supports ERP strategy and roadmap initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals. Maintains up-to-date documentation to support operational continuity and knowledge sharing
  • Drives and supports ERP strategy and roadmap initiatives by staying current with evolving features and functionalities, and proactively identifies opportunities to optimize and streamline business processes
  • Identifies risks and appropriate mitigation plans for supported applications. Provides recommendations for solutions to minimize system risk.
  • Demonstrates ability to balance multiple tasks simultaneously, using independent judgment, conferring with the AVP ERP Implementation as appropriate. Completes assigned projects/work within specified time frame. Is willing to adjust schedule or duties to assist staff or management to respond to unanticipated or unusual situations.
  • Accountable for and models a culture of excellence for the department. Develops policy and action plans for department that ensures talent development (recruitment, retention, and staff learning and development, satisfaction, and well-being) in alignment with system goals as well as other system-wide talent development initiatives. Fosters a culture of valuing staff by demonstrating commitment to staff success, providing recognition beyond regular pay, offering development and progression, and creating a supportive environment for a diverse workforce.
  • Provides mentoring and coaching to team members as necessary. Manages, directs, selects, trains, orients, and assigns department staff. Develops standards of performance, evaluates performance, and conducts performance management planning. Approves or recommends all personnel actions including hiring, promotions, demotions, and terminations.
  • Provides recommendations to senior leadership on communication content and strategies for planned and unplanned system events and operations.
  • Supports ERP architecture by integrating ERP solutions across functional lines, determining functional layers, and establishing partner collaborations. Translates ERP needs into PeopleSoft solutions.


  • Minimum Qualifications
    Education

    • Bachelor's degree in Information systems, Engineering, Business Administration or Healthcare required and
    • Master's degree in Information systems or Engineering systems preferred
    • One year of relevant education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.

    Experience

    • 10+ years in ERP Applications with expert-level, hands-on knowledge of PeopleSoft Financials, Supply Chain Management and HCM required and
    • 8-10 years Leadership experience, managing teams of business analysts for PS FSCM & HCM required and
    • 8-10 years Proven track record in Full lifecycle of ERP implementation (2+), upgrade (3+), configuration, testing and change management required and
    • 5-7 years Expertise in Peoplesoft reporting and analytics, including nVision, PS Query, BI Publisher and Kibana required and
    • 5-7 years Extensive experience in PeopleSoft Test Framework test automation. required
    • One year of relevant professional-level work experience may be substituted for one year of required education.

    • Deep business process knowledge to align ERP functionality with operational needs

    • Knowledge of AI, automation, and analytics in ERP ecosystems

    This position has a hiring range of $131,497 - $256,630
