Job Details

Under the direction of the VP, IT Sourcing & Vendor Management, this role is responsible for building, maintaining, and enhancing solid relationships with the strategic IT outsourced software vendors, as well as the contractual aspects of their agreements.. The Strategic IT Sourcing Contracts and Vendor Relationships Director, working collaboratively with both Cencora stakeholders and vendors, is responsible for finalizing IT and business requirements specifications for SOWs, problem resolution with strategic IT software vendors, and serving as a liaison to the business. Overall the Manager, Strategic IT Sourcing Contracts and Vendor Relationships must ensure that the organization achieves its objectives with strategic vendors and assists the strategic IT vendors with the achievement of their business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the relationship of strategic software IT vendors in the conduct of their business with Cencora, especially in the areas of contracts, policies, and processes compliance relating to delivery of services.

  • This includes creation of contractual documents, preparation and finalization of MSAs, SOWs and contract amendments, and working with Cencora legal as appropriate.

  • Partners with IT management and provides oversight for the contractual issues associated with multi-sourcing, including contract interpretations, amendments, benchmarking, licensing, etc.

  • Manages workflow and associated procedures relative to contract change requests and requests for service.

  • Provides recommendations for improvements to processes, procedures, workflow and organizational structures for contract management

  • Monitors the performance of the commercial-sourcing agreements and the overall relationships with the vendors.

  • Develops governance process frameworks for interactions and integrations with the different vendors.

  • Manages strategic account relationships with senior management of supplier. organizations, including a leadership role in cross functional and cross business unit sourcing teams as well as in negotiations effort with suppliers.

  • Understands and masters contracting best practices, negotiation strategies, and tactics.

  • With the IT Finance lead, administers commercial and financial arrangements with vendors to include billing, invoicing, performance/penalty adjustments and internal chargebacks, where appropriate.

  • Works with internal and external stakeholders in a way that positively engages their support using problem solving, persuasion, and proactive communication skills.

  • Helps establish common goals between key stakeholders and vendors, and drives communication between both parties.

  • Translates business and IT requirements skillfully in the most-appropriate approaches to identify, evaluate and select the right vendors in partnership with BT/IT management.

  • Ensures that the vendor(s) are compliant with internal rules and regulatory obligations.

  • Analyzes market trends in technology and IT service delivery. Studies market and technology developments that involve leading and emerging vendors, evolving pricing models and emerging service delivery models, such as software as a service or application utility.

Education and Work Experience

Requires broad training in fields such as business administration, accounting, sales, marketing, computer sciences or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four year bachelor's degree program, preferably in Business, Finance, Economics, or Accounting. Normally requires a minimum of ten (10) years related and progressively responsible experience in IT buying, purchasing, or finance. Expert knowledge of IT strategic sourcing, outsourcing, contract development and contract administration.

  • Outstanding knowledge of product and supplier base, B2B sourcing, and industry trends affecting supplier's business in the categories managed

  • Outstanding negotiation skills and contract optimization skills

  • Ability to deal with confrontational situations in a positive manner

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across the organization

  • Strong leadership skills; ability to lead a team and work with suppliers in order to meet company objectives

  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to develop and maintain business relationships

  • Outstanding problem solving skills and ability to apply the appropriate tools and level of analysis to specific situations

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing

  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills

  • Strong organizational skills; attention to detail

  • Ability to implement processes resulting in satisfactory audit practices

  • Strong computer skills in order to operate effectively with company systems and programs

  • Experience utilizing Microsoft Office suite. Knowledge of SAP Ariba and/or ICertis a preferred
