Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a highly skilled Lead Network Engineer to oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise-wide network infrastructure. This individual will lead a team of network engineers, providing Tier 1-3 support in a primarily Cisco-based environment, while ensuring the network meets required service level uptime through proactive monitoring, incident response, and system upgrades.

Day to Day Roles and Responsibilities:

    Lead a team of network engineers supporting a secure, scalable, and highly available network infrastructure
  • Deliver Tier 1-3 network support, leveraging manufacturer support contracts as needed
  • Monitor and respond to alerts via SolarWinds Orion; log incidents in the Service Desk system
  • Oversee lifecycle management of network hardware, replacing end-of-life or unsupported equipment
  • Ensure on-site coverage during core hours at required facilities
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and strategic direction to the network engineering team
  • Comply with and contribute to established system administration procedures
  • Collaborate with Customer on recommendations for network performance, procedures, and security improvements


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 8 years of experience, or a Master's degree and 6 years of experience, or High school diploma/equivalent and 12 years of experience
  • U.S. Citizenship required; must have an active Secret clearance
  • Strong hands-on experience with configuring, troubleshooting, and supporting Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and enterprise networking tools such as SolarWinds, as well as working knowledge of LAN/WAN, VPNs, and TCP/IP protocols.
  • Certifications:
    • Current Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification or higher (e.g., CCNP).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CompTIA Network+/CompTIA A+
  • Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)

Target Salary Range

$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
