Description
The Epic Manager of Medical Device Integration and Interfaces is responsible for leading the implementation, optimization, and ongoing management of Epic interfaces and device integration solutions at Children's National Hospital. This role plays a critical part in enabling seamless data exchange between Epic, medical device interfaces, and third-party systems utilizing interface engines (e.g., Cloverleaf, Mirth, or Infor). Reporting to the Director of Epic Clinical Shared Applications, this position oversees a multidisciplinary team of integrationdevelopers, interface architects, and device integration analysts. The Manager partners closely with biomedical engineering, IT infrastructure, and Epic application teams to ensure safe, secure, and effective integration of medical devices and external systems with the Epic EHR. Qualifications
Minimum Education
- Bachelor's Degree (Required)
- Master's Degree (Preferred)
Minimum Work Experience
- 5 years Progressive experience in health information technology or healthcare operations. (Required)
- 3 years Minimum of three years in a leadership or senior technical support role, managing EHR integration solutions and collaborating closely with clinical, biomedical, and IT stakeholders to optimize system interoperability, ensure reliable data exchange, and support safe and effective device integration workflows. (Required)
- 5 years' experience with one or more of the following: HL7 interfaces, FHIR APIs, IHE integration standards, medical device interoperability, and Epic integration tools such as Bridges, Interconnect, and related frameworks- including interface engines like Cloverleaf. (Preferred)
