Deputy Operations Section Chief
Various Locations Position Summary: Applied Training Solutions, LLC is seeking a Deputy Operations Section Chief to assist in managing all operational response efforts directly related to the incident. This role supports the execution and supervision of tactical activities in accordance with the Incident Action Plan (IAP), ensuring alignment with incident objectives and maintaining operational effectiveness. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing all incident operational response activities
- Support the development and implementation of tactical operations
- Supervise organizational elements in accordance with the IAP
- Assist in the direct execution of the IAP
- Coordinate with other section chiefs and command staff for cohesive response
- Provide operational input to planning meetings and briefings
- Ensure field operations align with strategic objectives
- Maintain situational awareness and communicate critical updates
Basic Qualifications:
- 1+ years of work experience in the role
- Strong understanding of incident response and tactical operations
- Familiarity with ICS and emergency management structures
- Excellent leadership, coordination, and decision-making skills
- Ability to adapt in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
- Must be a U.S. citizen
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting federally declared disaster responses
- Advanced ICS certification (ICS-300/400)
- Proficiency with incident management software (e.g., WebEOC)

- Performance Location: On-site while on assignment (location TBD)

- Travel Required: Yes - up to 100% while on assignment
Working Environment: Work is performed in Emergency Operations Centers (EOCs), field environments, or remote coordination centers. Extended hours and travel may be required across the continental United States and its territories during emergency activations.
