Position: Oracle/SQL Database Administrator

Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid)

Project: Database Management Software Upgrades

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Oracle/SQL Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team, focusing on supporting and upgrading database management software. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Oracle and SQL Server database technologies and experience in high-availability solutions, automation tools, and collaboration platforms.

Responsibilities:

Provide technical support for Oracle and SQL Server databases, including upgrades, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Manage Oracle RAC (Real Application Clusters) and SQL Server failover clusters to ensure high availability and performance.

Implement and maintain Oracle Advanced Security Options (TDE, Key Vault).

Develop and maintain automation scripts using Ansible playbooks.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align database systems with project requirements.

Use Git, Jira, and Bamboo for version control, issue tracking, and continuous integration tasks.

Monitor database performance and resolve issues to maintain system integrity.

Provide input on improving database processes and ensure compliance with organizational standards.

Requirements:

Experience: Minimum of 5 years supporting Oracle and SQL Server databases.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in Oracle 19c or above and SQL Server 2012 or above.

Experience with Oracle RAC and SQL Server failover clusters.

Hands-on experience with Oracle Advanced Security Options (e.g., Oracle TDE, Oracle Key Vault).

Familiarity with automation using Ansible.

Experience with tools like Git, Jira, and Bamboo for development and collaboration.

Soft Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.

Independence: Ability to work autonomously and as part of a dynamic team in a hybrid work environment.
