No - 100% On-Site As the Software Project Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of missile, platform, and launcher software. You'll directly support our government customer in PMA-242 at NAS Patuxent River, MD, providing essential design expertise that drives critical mission planning capabilities.
- Providing technical guidance and mentorship to PMA-242 leadership and IPTLs with respect to software integration into a missile system.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements, prioritize tasks, and deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Participating in the full software development lifecycle, from ideation and design to implementation, testing, deployment, sustainment and disposal.
- Conducting regular code reviews, ensuring code quality, performance, and adherence to coding standards.
- Ensuring program alignment with industry best practices and compliance standards.
- Staying abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices, incorporating them into the development and sustainment process, as appropriate.
- Providing technical leadership in the evaluation, acceptance and/or adoption of proposals, cost estimates, procedures, schedules, new tools, frameworks, testing, and methodologies.
- Evaluating missile and platform interface software design/specifications/interfaces.
- Reviewing software-related data provided by contractors (OEMs).
- Evaluating Change and Deviation Requests related to software requirements.
- Maintaining an overarching knowledge of the PMA-242 Programs and its products relative to focused area of expertise.
- Acting as the PMA's technical conscience across respective competency disciplines.
- Ensuring Reliability/Availability/Maintainability of the design and development processes.
- Maintaining the Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action system to document results of all software design and test efforts from initial laboratory development and system level testing through flight test.
- Collecting, tracking and maintaining software metrics (e.g., Software size, Processor/ Memory utilization, Software Defects, Schedule, costs, etc.) and report program status.
- Supporting airworthiness and weapon safety activities, as required.
- This position may require travel 15% or more, annually.

- Bachelors in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or other technical degree with strong software experience, required.
- Proven experience operating within an Agile framework, required.
- Familiarity with NAVAIR acquisition policies and regulations, highly desired.
- Demonstrated experience with project tracking and collaboration tools, specifically Confluence and Jira, highly desired.

Salary Range:
